Activities and events in Ashland County are as varied as the people who live and work here. Culture buffs enjoy the performances and exhibitions of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra, Ashland Regional Ballet, Hayesville Opera House, Ashland Chautauqua, Coburn Art Gallery and the Renaissance Performing Arts. For a true down-to-earth experience, try the Antique Tractor & Engine Show or the DAL-E-NAL Classics & Museum. And when you need to get in tune with nature, visit one of Ashland County’s beautiful parks, where woodland creatures and meandering rivers take you away from it all!
Stage performances, sport tournaments, exhibits, food vendors and, of course, gorgeous hot-air balloons light up the city of Ashland every June for a celebration like no other. This is truly an event for all ages — fun for everyone!
Ashland Symphony Orchestra
Carrying on a nearly half-century tradition, the orchestra’s 60-plus members perform from July through April with performances such as “Pops in the Park” and Divinely Dvořák.
Mohican State Park
In the heart of Loudonville, the 1,110-acre Mohican State Park and adjacent State Forest provide recreational opportunities including fishing in the Mohican River, which runs through the park, plus hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, camping and staying in one of the quaint cottages or the well-appointed resort lodge.
Myers Memorial Band Shell
Throughout the summer, local bands bring the Ashland community together for free concerts performed Sunday and Thursday evenings on the Band Shell stage. The Chautauqua Historical Series and wonderful family shows grace the Band Shell as well, as residents join in fellowship and delight.
